Julie Tang has extensive experience working in the federal courts, including many years serving as a career law clerk for the late Honorable Theodore McMillian of the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and as a supervisor in the Eighth Circuit’s Office of Staff Attorneys. Her work in the federal courts covered wide-ranging topics including employment discrimination, immigration, civil rights, criminal matters, and post-conviction relief. Prior to working in the Eighth Circuit, she worked at a San Francisco law firm, where she focused on environmental compliance and litigation.
Julie earned her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and law degree from Cornell Law School. In addition, she has a master’s degree in social work from Washington University. While working in the courts and raising a family, Julie founded a nonprofit organization to help parents learn about mental health issues impacting youth and to connect parents with vital resources in their communities.
