MARCH 17, 2025 (WASHINGTON, D.C.): Torridon Law PLLC, the law firm founded by former Attorney General William P. Barr and former Facebook General Counsel Ted Ullyot, today praised the decision by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to formally open an investigation into allegations that Columbia University failed to uphold its employees’ Title VII rights in the wake of the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023. Torridon has proudly represented Columbia custodians Mario Torres and Lester Wilson since they were attacked by a mob at their place of work, with the goal of holding the institution accountable for its failure to take appropriate action in response to growing campus hate.
“We welcome the EEOC’s decision to open an investigation into Mario’s and Lester’s charges of discrimination” said former Attorney General Bill Barr. “Columbia has a legal and moral obligation to protect the civil rights of its students and employees. It must be held accountable when it fails to do so.”
